A Napoleon III ormolu- and Sevres style turquoise-ground porcelain-mounted mahogany vitrine-on-stand Third quarter 19th Century The upper section set with a shaped galleried tier centred by an oval plaque painted with a cloudborne putto, over a bowed glazed front and sides, the central cupboard doors opening to a single shelf and silk-lined interior, the angles mounted with porcelain pilasters painted with tropical birds, above a conforming frieze set with a secret drawer opening to a fitted interior and blue velvet writing surface, on two scrolled volute supports and panelled back centred by a further oval plaque depicting a pair of playful putti, on a shaped plinth base 69¾ in. (177.5 cm.) high; 39¼ in. (99.5 cm.) wide; 15½ in. (39.5 cm.) deep
