A patinated bronze ewer in the manner of designs by Clodion and Flaxman, third quarter 19th century, the handle cast as a twin-tailed triton, his arms either side of the spout, the waisted neck with infant triton holding a scallopshell, the inverted baluster body cast in low relief with reserves to front and back depicting the reclining nude figures of Diana and Venus with amorini respectively, surrounded by scrolling foliage and above fruit festoons supported by lions' masks, with waisted stem and square base, 55cm high
