A Porcelain Tazza From The Imperial Banquet Service by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, 1848-1853 Of circular form, the upper body formed to simulate eight overlapping 'cabbage leaves', the lower body spreading into a wide base also decorated with overlapping cabbage leaves, each leaf painted with multi-coloured bouquets of flowers, within a blue border and gilt rim, the join of the upper and lower body decorated with a stylized gilt leaf design, the two handles moulded symmetrically opposite one another on the upper body, marked with dark blue underglaze Cyrillic monogram 'NI' beneath the Imperial Russian crown 5¾ in. (14.5 cm.) high, 8 5/8 in. (22 cm.) wide, 4 7/8 in. (12.5 cm.) diameter of the base
