A rare Dutch silver bodebus Mark of Jan van Giffen, Groningen, circa 1771, struck with maker's mark only and with later Paris and Dutch duty marks Embossed with a sailing vessel surrounded by a border of C-scrolls and rocaille ornament and engraved Sije Ebbens, Tijdse Pieters en Harm Bol als Olderlue Van de Niewe Taxsatie Gilde in Veendam 1771 , all surmounted by a crown, suspended on three chains, marked on front and hook of chain 14.6 cm. long 144 gr.
