IN THE GEORGE III STYLE, LATE 19TH CENTURY
A VICTORIAN SATINWOOD AND TULIPWOOD CROSSBANDED AND POLYCHROME-PAINTED SIDE CABINET In the George III style, late 19th century The top of shaped rectangular form with central painted panel in the manner of Angelica Kauffman, the classically draped female figures and putti desporting in a landscape with symbols of Plenty, surrounded by concentric borders of crossbanding, the outermost border with inlaid and penwork trailing foliage, below a similarly decorated frieze and three cupboard doors enclosing a single shelf, the doors with ram's head, ribbon-tied husk swags and central fan patera, the sides each with painted oval panels depicting classically draped female figures, the moulded apron on stepped tapering feet 37 in. (94 cm.) high; 60¼ in. (153 cm.) wide; 21¾ in. (55 cm.) deep
