First, a 6 x 8 in. mounted portrait of President Abraham Lincoln after a painting by Cyrus Cobb, published by Taber Prang Art Company in Springfield, Massachusetts. Second, is an embossed 4.5 x 3 in. mourning card commemorating the life and death of the president. The following quote is printed at bottom: "with malice towards none, with charity for all," from the laconic President. From the J.M. Whittmore Company Publishers is a 5.5 x 3 in. patriotic cover with a lithographed portrait of a young Lincoln with two American flags. Also enclosed is a lithographed CDV of Lincoln's predecessor, President Andrew Johnson. Finally, a 2.5 x 5.5 in. democratic and liberal republican ticket containing the desired nomination of Horace Greeley for president and a list of his potential Vice Presidential candidates. Condition: Portrait: Toning with a tear at the top portion of the photo, which is not visible behind the mount. Surface damage around the head of the President. Adhesive residue on the top verso. Large scratch on the verso of the portrait. Mourning card: Toning with minor bleeding on the top right hand corner of the verso. Patriotic Cover: darkening around the portrait and soiling on the margins of the cover. Andrew Johnson CDV: Foxing on the bottom recto, surface damage to the nameplate at the bottom, and toning of the card. The verso has some damage from former adhesive and residual paper fragments on the bottom (possibly transferred from a scrapbook but cannot be confirmed) Horace Greeley Ticket: minuscule foxing on the recto with toning of the ticket.
