Slight mat burn, lightly browned.

Slight mat burn, lightly browned. A fine, detailed depiction of the Battle of White Plains and its environs, "Drawn by S. Lewis for the original surveys made by Generall Washington." The territory shown extends from Harlem and Frog's Point in the south to Haverstraw Bay and Croton at top, and from Fort Lee on the west to Rye in the East. Features of the terrain, especially wooded elevations, and troop positions are carefully depicted.
