An early Victorian long case clock, the painted arched dial painted with country house, Roman chapter ring, pheasant in flight to centre, floral spandrels, thirty hour movement striking on a bell, the hood with curly pediment, turned columns, the trunk with short door flanked by reeded pilasters, 203cm high An old note from the vendor's family attributes this clock to A Launt of Chesterfield, N.B. Antony Launt was working from Beetwell Street, Chesterfield, by 1846, but by 1862 had moved to Broad Pavement.
