An Edwardian mahogany quarter-chiming longcase clock with tubular bells, early 20th century The hood with blind fret panel to the arch and fret panels to the sides, the trunk with glazed sides and astragal-glazed door flanked by canted blind fret angles, conforming angles to the plinth, the dial with engraved and gilt foliate spandrels to the silvered and engraved chapter ring with applied Arabic numerals, with engraved foliate mask to the centre around subsidiary seconds ring, strike/silent lever by 9, the arch with rings for chime/silent and Whittington/Westminster/St Michael selection, blued steel hands, the eight day movement with four back-screwed pillars, dead beat escapement and rack strike, quarter chimes on eight tubular bells and hour strike on further tubular bell; steel rod pendulum -- 90 in. (229 cm.) high
