AN ENGLISH HUNTING SWORD; AN EXCAVATED SHORTSWORD; TWO BRITISH REGULATION SHORT SWORDS; AND FIVE FURTHER ITEMS The first circa 1630-50; the second early 16 t h Century, the remaining items 19 t h Century The first with broad curved blade double-edged towards the point and struck with cutler's half-moon marks, and engraved flattened cap-pommel (rusted throughout, hilt incomplete); the second with the blade tang rising to a beak pommel and retaining nine decorated rosette washers for the grips; the regulation swords unmarked, other ranks' patterns, and each in its scabbard; two curved brass scabbards for officer's swords, one signed 'Osborn & Gunby'; and a spontoon head, socket bayonet (rusted) and swordstick (incomplete).
