An interesting collection of seven walking caneslate 19th century/earlly 20th century comprising; a Victorian ivory and whalebone cane, with later 18ct. gold mounts, marked London, 2000; An unusual Victorian ivory mounted horn cane, the spherical terminal in the form of a bloodshot eyeball; An Asprey's cane with an associated spherical turtleshell terminal, 18ct. gold collar, marked London, 1991, engraved 'Asprey's' on a hardwood shaft; A Victorian turned ivory and malacca cane; A Victorian ivory and bamboo cane with 'pistol' grip, probably adapted from a parasol; A Victorian cane mounted with a Japanese ivory terminal carved in relief with an erotic subject, the silver collar with partial marks for London, 1918, and later engraved 'Hornchurch / Drum & Trumpet Corps' with a malacca stem; A Japanese Export ivory and ebony cane, the shibayama terminal inlaid with insects, signed (7)Condition reportIvory and whalebone example - good. Some surface scratching to mounts (85cm. long) 'Bloodshot eye' - some wear from use. Terminal with some typical surface scratches (84cm. long) Turned ivory cane (84cm. long) Asprey's cane, (92cm. long) the spherical terminal with scuffs and some bruising. Parasol cane (87cm. long , later paint to collar and adhesive tape to the base. Japanese erotic example (92cm. long) Shibayama example (90cm. long) loss to dragonfly inlaid wing. This group is great fun but there are old marks and scratches from use. Condition 11 of the Conditions of Business for Buyers (Online Only) is not applicable to this lot.
