Title: Annie Oakley, Her Career and Experiences: Shooting in Fourteen Countries. Pinehurst, N.C., March 11, 1918 Author: Place: Carthage [NC] Publisher: News-Blade Job Print Date: 1918 Description: Folding brochure, 3 pp. with rear blank. Photo pictorial of Oakley astride a horse. 21.5x14 cm. (8½x5½"). Biographical sketch of the great markswoman, who spent some 17 years with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. The scarce and important brochure is in advertisement of her exhibition at Pinehurst, where she taught marksmanship to the ladies. It represents her efforts late in life (she died in 1922), when she continued to set records into her sixties. She also engaged in philanthropic endeavors for women's rights and other causes. No copies of the brochure are listed in OCLC/WorldCat. Lot Amendments Condition: A little browning to paper, else very good. Item number: 239860
