Auktionsablauf: 26.04.2022 / Los 101-225 / Sitzungsbeginn 14.15 Uhr Antiphonar. Lateinische Handschrift auf Pergament. Spanien (wohl Malaga), um 1700. Imp.-fol. (72:55 cm). Blattgr. 68:50 cm, Schriftspiegel 59:38,5 cm. Rotunda formata in schwarzbrauner Tinte u. römische Quadratnoten auf 5 roten Linien. Mit ganzseitiger Tuschzeichnung auf dem ersten nn. Blatt, großer Anfangsinitiale in Gold u. Farben u. zahlr. Initialen mit vegetabiler Ornamentik in 2-4 Farben (Rot, Blau, Grün, Schwarz). 1 nn., 197 num., 1 nn. Bll., 2 Bll. Pergament auf den Innendeckeln. Ldr. d. Zt. über schweren Holzdeckeln mit je 4 Metall-Eckbeschlägen, 1 großes Metall-Mittelstück auf beiden Deckeln sowie weiteren montierten Metallverzierungen (4 auf dem Vorder- u. 10 auf dem Rückdeckel), Kanten mit Metallbeschlägen, zwei Schließen. Zahlreiche alte und neue Nägel mit runden Köpfen auf beiden Deckeln; teilw. berieben, Metall angeschmutzt bzw. teilw. etwas rostig, Rücken an Kopf u. Fuß restauriert. Sehr großformatige liturgische Handschrift auf Pergament. Auf den Vorderdeckel genageltes handschriftliches Titelschild "Officium S. P. N. Francisci de Paula. Nativitatis in Matutin Hebdominae Resurrect, Pentecostes & Epiphaniae cum Ostaris". Auf dem ersten nn. Blatt hier das Porträt des Heiligen Franz von Paola (Franciscus de Paula, 1416-1507), Gründers des Paulanerordens, in ganzer Figur in seinem typischen Gewand, mit seinem Stab und seinem langen Bart. Eingefasst von einer breiten floralen Bordüre in kräftigen Farben. Am Schluss der Vermerk auf Stifter und Schreiber dieses Werkes: "Hunc fecit librum expensis sui peculij R. A. P. N. Franciscus Ybanez Ex Provinc., et scripsit P. Raph. Ezpelata (danach ein Ausschnitt). In Conventus S. M. Victricis". Hier handelt es sich sich wohl um die Santa Maria de la Victoria in Malaga. - Teilw. fleckig bzw. fingerfleckig, teilw. pergamentbedingte gleichmäßige Bräunungen, schwarze Text- u. Notenfarbe stellenweise etwas abgerieben. Oberer Schnitt bzw. Rand mit geringen Fraßspuren. Mehrere Blätter mit unschönem Feuchtigkeitsfleck im unteren weißen Rand mit einige Fehlstellen. Initiale auf Bl. 28 ausgeschnitten. Provenienz: Christie's, Auktion 8. Dezember 1982, Nr. 145 (datiert das Werk auf ca. 1550, was wir aber nicht nachvollziehen können). A monumental and complete liturgical manuscript on vellum, comprising the offices for St. Francis of Paula, and from Easter to Epiphany. Spain, probably Malaga, around 1700. Written in black ink and Roman square notes on 5 red lines. With full-page drawing on the first nn. leaf depicting the portrait of of St. Francis of Paola (Franciscus de Paula, 1416-1507), founder of the Pauline Order, in full figure in his typical robe, with his staff and his long beard. Framed by a broad floral border in colours. Large initial in gold and colours and numerous initials with vegetal ornamentation in 2-4 colours (red, blue, green, black). Handwritten title label on upper cover "Officium S. P. N. Francisci de Paula. Nativitatis in Matutin Hebdominae. Resurrect, Pentecostes & Epiphaniae cum Ostaris". At the end signed by the scribe: "Hunc fecit librum expensis sui peculij R. A. P. N. Franciscus Ybanez Ex Provinc., et scripsit P. Raph. Ezpelata (afterwards a cut out). In Conventus S. M. Victricis". This is probably probably the Santa Maria de la Victoria in Malaga. - Partly spotted resp. fingerstained, partly even browning due to parchment, black text and note colour somewhat rubbed off in places. Upper outer margin with small traces of wear. Several leaves with unattractive moisture stain in lower blank margin with some loss not affecting text of notes. Initial on folio 28 cut out. Contemporary brown leather over heavy wooden boards, each with 4 metal corner-fittings, 1 large metal centrepiece on both covers as well as further metal ornaments (4 on the upper and 10 on the rear cover), edges with metal fittings, two clasps. Numerous old and new nails with round heads on both covers; partly rubbed, metal soiled
