Model of the American Apollo CSM and Russian Soyuz docked, 14 inches long. The two vehicles are connected by a green Docking Module which provided a functional docking port for each spacecraft. The entire model is mounted above a 5 x 13 inch wood base with a plaque reading: "Energia Space Corporation Soyuz-Apollo Presentational Model." The green Docking Module is an unusual feature to this model; it is usually represented as either black or another neutral color, but here it matches the pale green of the Soviet Soyuz and initially appears to be a part of it. Since the DM was manufactured by Rockwell of California, but this model was made for the Russian S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, there may be some patriotic creativity involved.
