CONDITION: dw torn at back (without loss); edges frayed & cut along spine; a couple of small spots to half title & title page; o/w VG ; 2. Another Time. NY, Random House, 1940, first printing stated, dw($2.00). With the bookplate of Caroline Newton to front pasedown and a piece of letter headed paper "The Maypole". (Auden was a regular visitor and he wrote a special poem and read it for the housewarming party). This copy has a place and a date (looking like ink, in Auden's hand), after each poem, 50 in all with dates from 1935-1939, plus three corrections in ink including: page 59- a Stanza crossed out, and page 110-"innocent" crossed out, and "ignorant" written in the margin. CONDITION: dw with a couple of cuts and small loss; light browning to endpapers; pencil notes to back flyleaf; o/w vg ; (please note that we do not guarantee the authenticity of the handwriting); 3.
