BONNER, Robert. Autograph manuscript with various calligraphic additions on navigation, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, economics, navigation, and trade. Barton, 1769. 2 volumes, 8 o (183 x 111 mm). Vol. 1: 182 pages; vol. 2: 176 pages. Wash cartouche in vol. 2 with author's name, place and date, other watercolor and wash headpieces and diagrams in vol. 2, each section divider and headpiece calligraphically titled. Contemporary uniform speckled calf, vol. 2 with colored engravings of a Red-Bird and finch mounted on pastedowns. Provenance : purchased from Harry A. Levinson, 1953. Bonner's is a very fine 18th-century hand, and his calligraphic and watercolor decoration greatly enhance the quality of his exercises. (2)
