Signature: signed lower right; with artist's biography affixed on reverse Medium: oil on canvas Dimensions: 60 by 74cm., 23.5 by 29.2 5in. Carey Clarke was born in 1936 in Donegal. He studied in NCAD from 1954 to 1959 and then at Salzburg Academy of Fine Art. He lectured in painting in NCAD from 1963 until his retirement in 2006. His wor... rk is exhibited in many private collections including Allied Irish Bank, RTÉ, Telecom Éireann, and the OPW as well as the Ulster Museum. Carey Clarke painted the official portrait of former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds and has won numerous awards; he has the distinction of being the first recipient of the Keating McLoughlin Award and is a former President of the Royal Hibernian Academy more
