Christmas Story for Judy Dixon', 16 December 1977, 7 ff., rectos only, stapled, signed 'G M B'; 10) 'St Magnus Festival', 22 June 1988, 3 ff., rectos only, stapled, signed 'George Mackay Brown', headed "Radio Times"; 11) 'Introduction: The Tryst on Egilsay (Celtic Cross Press: publ. 16 April 1989)', 5 ff., rectos only, stapled, evidently a fair copy, an earlier draft (6 pp.,), also autograph, attached by paperclip; 12) 'Foreword: Selected Stories (Vanguard Press, USA)', 9 July 1986, 5 ff., rectos only, stapled, signed 'G M B'; most items (excluding the poems for Stella) in draft, with associated autograph corrections (1 folder) Note: The relationship between George Mackay Brown and Stella Cartwright (1937-1985), who was also seriously involved with several other key figures in the Scottish Renaissance, was revealed only in a 2006 biography of the poet by Maggie Fergusson. The pair met in Edinburgh in 1957 and were briefly engaged; they corresponded until her death. David Dixon was Brown's nephew and the dedicatee of his Selected Poems (1992).
