The Countess of SutherlandChalcedony, seed pearl and diamond brooch, Georges L'Enfant and a sapphire and diamond brooch, circa 1910 Comprising: a brooch composed of a section of chalcedony, highlighted by a line of seed pearls framed at each end by rose-cut diamonds in millegrain borders, French assay marks and maker's mark for Georges L'Enfant; and brooch designed as stock pin, set to the centre with two cushion-shaped sapphires and diamonds.Condition reportChalcedony brooch: French assay mark for 18 carat gold and maker's mark G (dice, partial wing) L for Georges L'Enfant. Length approximately 32mm, gross weight approximately 2.8 grams. Some very minor points of wear to chalcedony, mainly on underside, but overall condition good. Sapphire brooch: Unsigned. Sapphires stated to weigh approximately 0.75 and 1.43 carats. Measuring approximately 6.7 x 4.1mm and 6.0 x 6.5mm (depths not possible to gauge due to back of brooch), some light surface wear to facet edges. Length approximately 50mm, gross weight approximately 5 grams. Overall condition good. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The online
