Circa 1908 Chicago Cubs "A Yard of the National Game" Panorama This large display features a spectacular panoramic view of the Chicago National League Grounds, circa 1908. The photographic action shot is bordered by the portraits of 26 champion Chicago Cubs including Frank Chance, Johnny Kling, Mordecai Brown, Johnny Evers, Joe Tinker, Orvie Orvall, Ed Reulbach and Harry Steinfeldt. The print features the players dressed in game uniforms on the bottom left side of the panorama and in suits on the bottom right side. Copyrighted in 1908, the panorama transports the viewer to a hundred years ago when the Cubs were a powerhouse, winning three consecutive National League pennants (1906-08) and two straight World Series titles (1907-1908). In good condition overall, this piece exhibits moderate water damage on the bottom of the panorama with light foxing throughout. There is minor creasing throughout and a five-inch tear on the right side. Additionally, there is a 2 3/4" piece of tape on the left side of the panorama that has toned. The image measures 14 1/2" by 43 1/2".
