Legatura coeva di area tedesca in pelle di scrofa su assi di legno, cornici e fregi impressi a secco ai piatti, bindelle perfettamente conservate, titoli manoscritti su doppio tassello cartaceo al dorso, ampie lacune di pelle al piatto posteriore. Questo trattato sull'astrolabio è diviso in tre parti: la prima dedicata alla geometria pratica, la seconda sull'uso teorico dell'astrolabio e la terza raccoglie tutti i canoni dell'uso pratico dello strumento; è in quest'opera che si applicano praticamente, per la prima volta nella storia della scienza, le formule di prostaferesi, già definite da Johann Werner agli inizi del XVI secolo.
