Blade 1.8" wide at widest point and spine .35" thick at ricasso, tapering only slightly before reaching the false edge. German silver mounts, including a 2.625" pointed oval guard and combination German silver and horn scaled coffin hilt. Both German silver grip scales depict a full length alligator with flowing vines around the perimeter. Reverse horn scale with arrowhead shaped German silver escutcheon plate. Contained in its original German silver mounted leather scabbard with the embossed gold logo "California Gold Finder" surrounding an American Eagle and gold boarder line stampings. Frog button is missing from the throat. Condition: Good to very good. Blade with scattered light to moderate pitting with surface oxidation and discoloration. Hilt very good, with the horn portion of the scales showing some small chips. Scabbard good to very good, showing wear and some loss to the gold embossed decoration in the center, with only traces of the boarder stamping are present. Some of the surface leather is missing from the reverse of the scabbard. Tip of scabbard may be replaced.
