True Courage: Or, Heaven Never Forsakes the Innocent. The Silver Toy, Or Picture Alphabet. The History of Little King Pippin. The Moving Market; Or, Cries of London.] The Snow. The First Step to Learning. Nothing at All. A Short History of Birds and Beasts. Scripture Histories. The Merry Andrew. Nurse Dandlem's Little Repository of Great Instruction. 16 volumes, all with woodcut illustrations, all but the final three titles with the cuts hand-colored. All in the original printed or pictorial paper wrappers. Approximately 11x7 cm or a bit smaller. Housed in a custom full morocco solander case by Root & Son, lettered in gilt on spine. A substantial collection of this publisher's chap-books for children, all near fine copies, wonderfully preserved. The spine of the case states "Fifteen Children's Coloured Chap-Books", there are 16 present, only 13 of which are colored. Lot Amendments Condition: Only very light wear; all near fine to fine.
