18" clip point blade with a 5.75" false edge. 1.5" wide blade, .265" thick spine at hilt. 23.25" in overall length, with 5.25" hilt. Simple iron single brand D shaped guard with 1.75" tapering straight quillon. Oval wood grip with .9375" iron ferrule at guard. Blade and guard attached with simple peen at pommel. With 17.75" long leather scabbard made from a single piece of folded leather, sewn at the edge and reinforced with three lead rivets, one missing. 4.25" tin scabbard tip secured by four pins. Scabbard broken at tip, and tip is loose. Belt loop at rear of scabbard, now missing. Condition: Good to very good. Blade with gray patina and scattered surface oxidation. Iron hilt and guard with a deeply oxidized brown patina and what appears to be traces of black paint. Wood grip with dings and mars. Leather scabbard about good, with crazing and age. Most of the original seam is in tact with tight stitching, one of the lead rivets is missing. Part of the folded edge of the scabbard is torn with a very old stitched repair (mostly missing) and some rivets made from small iron nails. Belt look missing. Traces of old paper tag on reverse.
