Gemini V (August 21 – 29, 1965) 70mm Photography Identification, 7 pp, 8½ x 14 inches. Image data from the four flight magazines are listed in a line-column format providing both NASA color and black & white photograph ID's, spacecraft orbit number, time taken in GMT, flight date, and an Earth location description. Astronauts Cooper and Conrad used a NASA modified Hasselblad 500C camera with an 80mm f 2.8 Zeiss Planar lens. Magazines 1 through 3 were Eastman Kodak Ektachrome MS (S.O. 217) film and Magazine 4 was General Aniline Anscochrome D-50 film. Gemini 5 marked the first time detailed repetitive photographic coverage of the Earth was obtained on a manned space flight due to the mission duration of eight days. The astronauts proved that man could indeed photographically record Earth surface features with important scientific and military applications.
