Une planche particulièrement importante dans l'oeuvre de Hugo Pratt car c'est une des rares fois où le personnage de Corto Maltese apparait en arrière plan, derrière Sergent Kirk. La série Corto Maltese ne prendra réellement son envol que quelques années plus tard et éclipsera par un succès mondial le premier personnage de Hugo Pratt qui lui avait permis d'accéder à la notoriété en tant qu'auteur de bandes dessinéees. The Corto Maltese series will only take flight few years later and darken by a international success the first character of Hugo Pratt which made him famous as a comic strip author.
