Cricket crowd scenes 1926-1979. A nice selection of twelve original mono press photographs of large crowd scenes in the stands and on the pitch. Matches include Yorkshire v Kent at Sheffield 1926. Huge crowds gathered on the pitch at Lord's following England's victory over Australia in the second Test in 1934. Packed stands at Lord's for M.C.C. v Australians in 1948, and another general view from the same match. A general view of the play with large crowds in the stands, the scoreboard showing Australia at 250-1 in their second innings, Barnes 110no and Bradman 62no. From the 1953 Ashes series, the third day of the second Test, Lord's, and crowds running on to the pitch at the close of The Oval Test (with official scorecard). A sea of faces on the pitch at The Oval at the close of the final Test v South Africa 1955. Schoolboys mobbing the players after England had beaten West Indies at The Oval in 1966. A nice image of spectators peering over the fence standing on bicycles and one on a ladder to get a view of the match at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire v All-India in 1946 etc. Publishers include Sport & General, Reuter, Central Press Photos, Cleveland Press etc. Various sizes, 10"x8" and smaller. Creasing to the odd photograph, otherwise in good/ very good condition
