Section II: International Horror Comics CUENTOS DE BRUJAS No. 1 [NUMERO EXTRAORDINARIO] * Mexican FANTASTIC FEARS No. 7 * STRANGE FANTASY No. 5 * VOODOO No. 2 Publisher: La Prensa Date Published: August, 1954 Description: G/VG (3.0) INCOMPLETE: Short splits and small paper losses to squarebound spine ends, a few horizontal split lines to spine, reading creases to covers, light curling and creasing to front cover corners, some interior foxing, name in ink on 1st page ("Maria Louisa Garcia"), 1st PAGE OF 3rd STORY IN VOODOO #2 MISSING, two pages almost loose, one page loose, a few pages dogeared, two pages chipped. Cream pages. Giant-size squarebound Mexican reprint of Fantastic Fears #7 [1st ish], Strange Fantasy #5, and Voodoo #2, all originally published by Ajax-Farrell (1952-1953). Color interior. Stories translated into Spanish. Cover and stories: unknown Iger Studio talent, edited by Ruth Roche. CGC Census: No slabbed copies. Rare giant-sized "Annual"-type compendium comprising the contents of three classic Ajax-Farrell mags translated into Spanish, bound into one big fat package: Fantastic Fears #7, Strange Fantasy #5, and Voodoo #2. Sadly, the first page of the third story in Voodoo #2 is missing; however, you'll have a devil of a time finding a fully-intact copy of this supersized oddity. Brimful with atrocities: man-eating plants, ghouls hung on meathooks, stabbings, chokings, hypodermic needles, ghost gal inexplicably run over by subway train, woman turns into man-hungry snake, blonde babe visited by rotting corpse in her bedroom ("La Visita del Cadaver"), lingerie pix, burial alive, human immolation, hot-to-trot zombies jonesing for living lovers, etc. Enjoying the Sale?
