D. Bolger, Terrantez 1862 Madeira Recorked in 2018. New wax capsules with Dermot Bolger family seal. Old moulded bottles with stencilling. Levels: into-neck Tasting note: First tasted October 2019. Expressive high toned nose of deep banana leafs and caramel. Nice perfume. Intense aromas. Soft semi sweet taste start of rich dried apricots, full mouth filling intense mid with fine singing focused acidity over dried fruit finish. A beautiful texture of concentrated fruit purity and lovely natural concentrated acidity. Great wine of well-defined finesse and intensity. Most recently: Very concentrated aromas on the nose, banana leaf, honey cake and dried peaches. A broadening very refined and intriguing wine. Great harmony of aromas which just keeps you impressed. Fairly sweet. This is getting close to perfection, very noble and well balanced. There is a level of concentration combined with a drinkability that?s unique. Comparable to the extra level, balance and depth of taste of a Bordeaux first growth. The Bolger family clearly had kept only the highest quality of Torre Bella wines for the family reserves. Last tasted January 2020. EV. 2 bottles per lot
