Ms. title, 5pp tables, frontispiece pen and ink drawing of Christ on the Cross, section title 225 numbered pages of text and 6 pp blank, foliation in ink in the upper right corner. The text written in dark brown ink in attractive roman and italic letters within ruled borders, title page, table of contents and half-title with free-form ink flourishing to form borders. Late 19th-century navy crushed levant morocco, original front cover panels of red morocco used as pastedowns, each tooled in gilt in a dentelle border, spine lettered in gilt, five raised bands, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Condition: minimal foxing, minor offsetting to the text; otherwise clean copy. Provenance: Mortimer L.
