The Giaour, a Fragment of a Turkish Tale bound with 10 other separately issued titles.
London: John Murray 1813. 8vo (210 x 140 mm). [Bound with:] The Siege of Corinth, 1816, The Prisoner of Chillon, 1816, Poems, 1816, and at least 7 other Byron titles. 4 plates marked "Proof." Contemporary full black straight grained morocco, panelled in gilt, spine tooled and lettered in gilt, gilt turn-ins, purple watered silk doublures, a.e.g., slipcase. Condition : some intermittent spotting, some offsetting from plates; binding lightly rubbed, small chips to spine. Provenance: Helmut N. Friedlander (small "H.N.F." booklabel). A group of 11 separately issued Byron titles, many in first editions, with a finely executed fore-edge view of castle of chillon , a location in The Prisoner of Chillon, as seen from across and reflected in, a lake . Includes first editions of Corinth, Chillion, Poems, Manfred, and Mazeppa.
