A Georgian chest of drawers in mahogany with oak secondary, having a rectangular top with molded edges and canted front corners above a conforming case with two aligned over three dovetailed and graduated long drawers, the fronts cockbeaded and fitted with brass bail handles and inset with brass key surrounds, all flanked by inlaid stiles and rising on bracket feet; ht. 43.5, wd. 49.25, dp. 22.5 in. Provenance: Property from the Estate of Maxwell Mitchell Leichardt, Bowling Green, KY Condition: Surface wear and imperfections as would be expected with age and use. Some veneer repairs. Some small chips and repairs to cockbeading. Right side panel with an age split. Thin separation between left stile and left side panel. Handles of two aligned drawers replaced. Retains interior lock mechanisms. Replaced feet.
