Lot of 7 photographs featuring individual musicians, special instruments, and music stores. Collection includes a real photo postcard signed by the Boudini Brothers, ca 1916. A popular vaudeville act during the 1910s and 1920s, Phil and Dan Boudini (born Filippo and Domenico D'Agostino) had emigrated to the United States earlier in the twentieth century and became famous for their accordion playing prowess. Photograph captioned: "The Inimitable World's Accordionists" and inscribed in ink: "To our friend Harry. . . with Best wishes and good luck. Yours Truly Boudini Brother [sic]." Other images of note include a cabinet card credited to W.F. Ferguson, Clinton, IA, promoting Jordan's Music Store and their new product, the "'Ferris Wheel' Sheet Music Cabinet," described on verso as "the ONLY one EVER made to serve as a Sheet Music Cabinet. It is NOT a toy, nor cheaply built, but a very useful and finely made piece of mechanism." Also featured in this lot are two photographs promoting George G. DeMoss and William E. Strohl (ca 1863-1888), both "double cornet duettists" popular in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries for their abilities to play two cornets simultaneously.
