Hutton (William). A Voyage to Africa: including a Narrative of an Embassy to one of the Interior Kingdoms, in the Year 1820; with Remarks on the Course and Termination of the Niger and Other Principal Rivers in that Country, 1st edition, for Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, and Brown, 1821, 4 hand-coloured aquatint plates including frontispiece, 2 folding maps, spotting to text, plates and maps toned or browned, offsetting, a few marginal finger-marks to plates, later sprinkled tan calf, rebacked, 8vo (21.6 x 13 cm) (Qty: 1) Abbey Travel 280; Prideaux p. 340. Hutton was 'British acting consul to Ashanti ... in the region of present-day Ghana, and an officer serving in the British African Company of Merchants' (Library of Congress, online).
