I: Karsen made many trips to Prague and was active there from 1838 to 1896. The Charles Bridge connects the Old City with the district of Malá Strana and constituted the main connection between the Old City and Prague Castle. The bridge is some 516 meters long, nearly 10 meters wide, and is constructed of 16 arches with ice breakers. On this bridge are placed 30 Baroque statues, dating from circa 1700.
