Krug Collection 1969 Krug Collection 1969 Champagne Original tissue, excellent appearance, bottle #111 18 different growths Pinot Noir 50%, Meunier 13%, Chardonnay 37%. One of the great classic Champagne bouquets of all time. Vanillin, oak, hawthorn, toffee. So honied it coats the mouth. Pure nougat in flavour. Like chewing, it has such body and texture. A toffee sign-off, combining wonderful vinosity and freshness. Serena Sutcliffe, MW Lot 210 1 bt (owc) per lot: USD 1200-1600 Few great wine collectors, even if they concentrate on red wines, bypass Krug Champagne. Its power and sheer vinosity appeal to a connoisseur of the greatest Bordeaux and Burgundy, and collectors have a tendency to preface their tastings and dinners with a glass of this majestic Reims "institution". Some even go so far as to organize vertical tastings of Krug in its own right, recognizing the unique properties of this Champagne in terms of development and maturity. Serena Sutcliffe, MW. A very limited number of bottles of each Krug Vintage are kept under ideal conditions in the Krug cellars. Tasted and appraised, they are waiting for the appropriate time to be released. These rare Champagnes, which were Krug Vintage, now become Krug Collection Quantity: 1
