Beschreibung:

Comprising: (A) Engraved powder horn of "I. Child". The horn depicts a New England style house next to a tepee and a river with an ornate bridge. The other side is inscribed "Nov. 1807" along with a large fouled anchor. Wooden plug with a rose head nail for sling attachment. Spout section is faceted. CONDITION: Very good overall with a couple minor insect bites and 1 minor crack at one of the pins at the base. (B) Artillery powder horn with a brass charger at the spout, stamped with "88" on one side. The turned wooden plug has a removable threaded knob in the center. Complete with an early leather strap. Horn measures 13" overall. CONDITION: (B) Very good, showing some smoothing and light marks from use, some minor age cracking around plug. Strap shows a crazed, dry surface with some separation beginning. (C) York powder horn measures about 9-3/4" overall with a turned plug with 2 engraved lines above it. CONDITION: Very good with a few light marks from use. (D) A nice 18th century powder horn measuring 9-3/4" including plug, which is in the early Philadelphia style. The relief ring below the spout section is cross hatched. The horn itself has a green hue. CONDITION: Shows some heavy wear and minor losses and cracking at spout. One side shows a deep crater, possibly where the horn was struck with something but did not break through. An attractive grouping of powder horns. DMG Item Dimensions: Length: 9 - 3/4".
