Beschreibung:

Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut 1990 Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut 1990 Lot 5483: 6 bottles packed in individual gift boxes 63% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay and 3% oak fermented. A Pinot Noir year. In 2009, a little more yellow in colour than the green-tinged 1996. Initially, also, more floral on the nose, but then it becomes exotic and figgy, plus milk chocolate and fruit cake. So creamy and fruity on the palate. With air, the Pinot Noir in the blend really comes out - one could be in Beaune on a smoky November night! That searing Cristal focus (maybe from their beloved Verzenay vineyards?) takes you right to the heart of it. It becomes increasingly lemony, with such warmth and generosity, finishing on a slightly 'marine' note. My, so far, unrealised dream is to marry this with a black truffle en brioche! My most recent bottle came at the end of 2009, disgorged in September 2006. Very slight 'oxidation' gave chocolate and truffles on the nose and great nuttiness. Very toasty and intense. Mature, rich, ripe and full on the palate - one senses the dry, sunny year. SS. See illustration Lot 5484 6 bts (oc) per lot: HKD 16000-24000 per lot: USD 2000-3000 Tsar Alexander II in 1876 was the inspiration for the covetable transparent bottle, but the Champagne is the result of Roederer's art and skill. All the grapes come from Roederer's own vineyards and the heady honey, vanillin, toffee and dried fruits delights of this sublime Champagne are a reflection of their superb sites. At other times, one can pick up hazelnuts, nougatine, truffles and peaches. Cristal always combines intense vinosity with a glorious, lingering laciness. What is there not to like? SS. Quantity: 1
