I neatly repaired, some wear to corners, occasional discoloration or slight foxing to plate sheets, very minor fold tears to two plates not affecting image, tiny wormholes in gutter of vol. 3. FIRST EDITION. Engraved titles by Prestele after Neureuther and 300 lithographed plates (292 colored by hand, 8 of these folding, 8 uncolored plates), plus a duplicate of plate 39, by F.J.U. Prestele, J.W. Sigrist and others after G.W. Bischoff and others. A pioneering general flora of Brazil which was supplemented by Pohl Plantarum Brasiliae icones et descriptiones hactenus ineditae (1826-1833, see lot 119).
