III, 3 line block illustrations in the text, line block printer's device at end of each volume, 5 errata slips and one addenda slip, facsimile of the sale catalogue of the cabinet of Jean B. Jacques Augustin (35 pages, 8°, printed wrappers) tipped onto a guard at end of vol. IV. Vellum over wooden boards, upper cover of each volume with a different set of chased and embossed silver corner bosses, central medallions and pair of clasps with matching clasps attached to lower covers, reproducing the monograms or signatures of the most important artist in each volume, smooth spines gilt lettered, gray-green morocco doublures richly tooled in gilt and with variously colored morocco onlays, framing 23 INSET PAINTED MINIATURE PORTRAITS of various shapes and sizes, gray-green watered silk free endpapers with gilt fillet borders, multiple silk markers in each volume, t.e.g. (a few scratches to lower covers, the markers lacking the original silver ends and fraying).
