(A little light surface wear, margins spotted and frayed, right-hand margin slightly split long plate mark, upper margin with brown mounting paper attached, paper repairs on verso.) 417 x 530mm.

Ortelius’ strikingly attractive presentation of the Americas. The Strait of Magellan, entered by the Portuguese navigator on 1 November 1520, is shown, but Tierra del Fuego is made part of the large southern continent.
