He begins his preface, "In this little book on the art of greenkeeping, I shall endeavour to set forth a plain treatise which is the outcome of my own personal experience, together with the study and general observations regarding results of various methods in greenkeeping, on both seaside and inland golf courses, all of which were possessed of some little peculiarities worth finding out." Only two offerings found in auction records, which were both for the Murdoch copy offered through PBA Galleries in 1998 ($1300) and again in 2007 ($3,750). A few pencil marks. Early handwritten lending library marks on front free endpaper. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear, rubbing with mild fraying at ends of somewhat darkened spine; a few ripples to cloth and bumps to boards; occasional stains, toning to endpapers, The Golf Greenkeepers Association stamps throughout.
