"This mélange of eleven scenes shows the hospital in the center and below the 'Interior of the Hospital.' Other views show the kitchen, dining room, laundry, officers' dining room, ladies' kitchen, bathroom, washroom, storeroom, and drug room … this hospital was especially intended for the reception of the more serious cases of sick and wounded constantly arriving from the Army by train. During its first year alone it cared for 30,000 soldiers" (Wainwright). The hospital closed in April of 1865. Wainwright 69.
