Robert Arthur Thoms. 'Middlesex v Yorkshire 1878'. Original scorecard for the Middlesex v Yorkshire match played at the Lord's Ground on the 18th-20th July 1878. Middlesex won the match by ninety runs. Middlesex made 196 and Yorkshire were bowled out for 143 in their first innings. In their second innings, Middlesex made 346 and Yorkshire were bowled out for 309. For Middlesex, Pearson made 84 in the first innings, Lyttelton 79 in the second and Pearson took eight wickets in the match. For Yorkshire, Roper top scored with 68 and Ulyett 57 in the second innings. The scorecard with printed detail up until the end of the first day. Thoms and Pinder officiated in the match. Folds, some wear and nicks with loss to border, printed area otherwise in good condition. A rare scorecard. Previously sold in the Christie's auction of October 1987
