Beschreibung:

Russian Gilt Silver Stemware, Flatware and Dinner Service Engraved with the coat of arms of the Ruwe family, marked Morozov, with the Imperial Warrant, and Cyrillic initials NB, St. Petersburg, circa 1908-1917 Comprising an oak tree form centerpiece with colorless cut glass bowl, twelve champagne glasses, twelve white wine glasses, twelve red wine glasses, twelve sherry glasses, twelve cordial glasses, twelve dessert plates, twelve knife rests, four double open salt cellars with glass liners, four salt spoons, twelve dinner forks, twelve luncheon forks, twelve dessert spoons, eleven tablespoons, twelve dinner knives, twelve luncheon knives, twelve dessert knives, two knife handles, and serving fork and spoon, each whimsically decorated with a bear, oak leaves, twigs and acorn motifs. Height of centerpiece 26 1/4 inches, total approximately 999 ounces, weighable. Estate of Ambassador Nicholas Ruwe
The service appears to be in overall good condition. There is some light scratching to the plate surfaces. Three plates have spot discoloration near the center edges, probably losses to the gilding. Two of the smallest cordials have minor damages; each has a split to the stem, one just beneath the bowl causing the bowl to tilt slightly , the other glass similarly tilting, with a split extending nearly 360 degrees, otherwise all of the stemware appears to be in good condition. One of the knife rests is missing its coat of arms shield. One of the double salt cellars is missing one of its glass liners; one glass liner has a small chip to its rim, otherwise they all appear to be in good condition. There are at least two different maker's marks on the blades of the knives, there is also rusting to the majority of the knife blades. All of the other flatware pieces appear to be in good condition Some wear to gilding Center Piece: there is somedamage to the upper stem portion, ie., there is at least one small branch that has been broken (now missing). Along the lower portion there is one small wire lacking an applied acorn ornament; higher up the tree trunk there is a small oak leaf that is missing its tip. There are two small drill holes near the outer edge of the domed foot , on the opposite sides suggesting perhaps there were originally wire ornaments emanating from these locations. Some black spotting / discoloration to top sides of foot; wear to gilding; light scratching to interior of glass liner.
