Sarah Bernhardt A collection of material relating to Sarah Bernhardt including: a book BERNHARDT, Sarah Dans Les Nuages: Impressions D'Une Châise , Paris, [1878], illustrations by Georges Clairin, 4°, contemporary half morocco, spine lettered and decorated in gilt and an autographed letter in French, signed, 1893, on subject's personalised stationery, addressed to My Dear Friend, My children are leaving today and I want to spend these few hours with them....I look forward to seeing you tomorrow... 1p. attached inside; another autograph note in French, signed, in brown ink, on Hotel De La Ville Milan headed stationery simply stating... Italy is the country which rhymes with love and art. That is why I love Italy 1p.; three French programmes for performances at Th/eeâtre Sarah Bernhardt , two for Athalie , 1921 and one for Daniel , 1920; two cabinet cards illustrated with portrait photographs of subject by Nadar, both -- 6½x4¼in.
