[ and the sequel :] The Abbot , Edinburgh: for Longman, Hurst, Rees [etc.], 1820. 3 volumes, 12°, half titles bound in before first leaf of text in each volume, advertisement leaf at end of volume III (stain to H2 of vol. I, hole to margin of O3 in the same vol., severe stains to lower margin of K 1 - 2 in vol. II, margins thumb-soiled, isolated spotting), contemporary polished calf uniform with the previous novel (extremities worn). FIRST EDITION. With 6 other novels by Walter Scott in a total of 20 volumes, a fourth edition of Marmion (Edinburgh, 1808) in attractive contemporary straight-grained green morocco binding, and one other volume of verse by Scott.
