Marginal side-notes and hand markers in dark brown or red ink in a contemporary hand. Early 16th-century calf, blind stamped and tooled in decorative pattern, modern spine renewed with four raised bands. Condition: 1236 PT written in ink on front pastedown, wormholes to lower margins of leaves and inside covers; occasional thumbsoiling; covers heavily soiled and nicked, extremities rubbed. an interesting collection of papal documents. Spanning the years 1446 to 1504, this being a copy made from documents in the vatican archives in 1504. Certification on the last leaf signed by Berandus de Molario , Clerk of the Diocese of Lyons, at the front free endpaper and back pastedown is written in a contemporary hand Loci Sancte Crucis Macerata in ink. An earlier description suggests these documents are from the Sir Thomas Phillips collection (Ms. 9482). Contents include 8 papal documents of Sixtus IV, 7 of Alexander VI, 3 of Eugenius IV, 2 of Clemens, and one of each Pius II, Paul II, Nicholas V, Martin V and Julius II.
