Testimony from a variety of high-ranking military figures on St. Helena including Colonel Charles Nicol (Commander of the 66th Regt.), Maj. James Power (Commander, Royal Artillery Corps.), Alexander Baxter (Deputy Inspector of Hospitals), Sir Thomas Reade (Deputy Adjutant-General), Capt. Francis Stanfell (Commander of the Phaeton and the Conqueror ), Sir George Ridoubt Bingham (Commander of the Troops), and several others. Detailed accounts, containing rich detail of Napoleon's circle, his activities and life in enforced exile.
