First edition, first impression in the extremely rare dust-jacket. We can trace just one copy in the jacket in auction records. The first impression is lacking the full stop after the roman numerals on the title page as called for by McIlvaine. The Inimitable Jeeves assembles Wodehouse's short stories cf on the titular butler-at-large and his immature master Bertie. All 18 stories had previously been serialised in The Strand Magazine between December 1921 and November 1922, and one, 'Jeeves and the Chump Cyril', earlier in August 1918. Octavo. (Occasional creasing to upper inner corner, very light marginal spotting to a few leaves.) Original green cloth, titles and decorations to upper board and spine and publisher's device to lower board stamped in dark green (extremities very lightly rubbed, spine cocked, head- and tailcap lightly bruised); original pictorial dust-jacket (lightly soiled, chips and closed tears to edges with loss to a few letters at head of spine, and loss of letter 'e' in title).
